My name is Matthew Green, I was born and raised in Long Beach, CA and I started playing baseball when I was 4 years old.
I played for were the Tomateros ages 10-12 and the SoCal Bombers ages 12-17.
I moved on to play 4 years of varsity ball at St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA). I was second team all league twice and first team all league once.
I verbally committed to St. Mary’s College of California my sophomore summer. My freshman year in college I dislocated my left shoulder and tore my labrum and had to medically red shirt.
I didn’t play much the next year and continued to grind every day to try to get a starting role. My third year (red shirt sophomore year) around halfway through the year I finally broke into the lineup.
In between each year I played summer ball. My freshman summer was in Hannibal, Missouri playing for the former Hannibal Cavemen (now the Hannibal Hoots in the Prospect League). My sophomore summer was in Bethesda, Maryland playing for the Big Train in the Cal Ripken League. For my last two summers have been in Palm Springs, California playing for the Palm Springs Power in the Southern California Collegiate League.
It is 2019 and I’m currently playing for the Power for my final year of summer ball.
