My name is Matthew Green, I was born and raised in Long Beach, CA and I started playing baseball when I was 4 years old.
I played for were the Tomateros ages 10-12 and the SoCal Bombers ages 12-17.
I moved on to play 4 years of varsity ball at St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA). I was second team all league twice and first team all league once.
I verbally committed to St. Mary’s College of California my sophomore summer. My freshman year in college I dislocated my left shoulder and tore my labrum and had to medically red shirt.
I didn’t play much the next year and continued to grind every day to try to get a starting role. My third year (red shirt sophomore year) around halfway through the year I finally broke into the lineup.
In between each year I played summer ball. My freshman summer was in Hannibal, Missouri (Prospect League), then Bethesda, Maryland (Cal Ripken League), then Palm Springs, California (Southern California Collegiate League).
